Where your data lives
AstroEW stores saved charts and palace notes in the current browser’s local storage. There is no account and no server-side birth-chart profile in the current product.
This keeps personal details out of public URLs and avoids sending a birth chart to a remote profile database, but it also means the browser is the place that holds the working copy.
What can remove the local copy
- Clearing site data or browser storage.
- Using private or incognito browsing.
- Changing device or browser without moving a backup.
- Browser privacy settings, extensions, or storage limits.
- Using the clear-all control in the local chart library.
Use the JSON backup
- Generate a chart and choose Save in the chart report.
- Open the local chart library and choose Export backup.
- Keep the downloaded JSON file somewhere you control; it contains the saved chart data and notes.
- On another browser, choose Import backup and verify the restored chart before deleting the original file.
A practical privacy boundary
A backup is portable personal data. Do not upload it to a public repository or send it to someone who does not need it. Delete old copies when you no longer need them.
If you are working with another person’s chart, ask before exporting or moving it. Local storage is private by default, but anyone with access to the browser profile may be able to read it.
