Many people meet astrology through one familiar doorway: a Western Sun sign, a Chinese zodiac year sign, or a Zi Wei chart shared by family. Each can spark recognition, but each belongs to a larger tradition with its own history, calculations, vocabulary, and limits.
AstroEW brings these doorways into one English-first experience for overseas readers. We do not collapse them into a single master sign. We explain the seasonal logic of Western astrology, the stem-and-branch year-pillar logic of the Chinese zodiac, and the palace-and-star architecture of Zi Wei Dou Shu so that comparison creates understanding rather than false equivalence.

Western zodiac signs
A seasonal Sun-sign language associated with twelve signs, four elements, and three modalities. A useful first doorway for many international users, but not a complete Western natal chart.

The twelve animal signs are linked to the twelve earthly branches. A complete year pillar also includes a heavenly stem, the five elements, and yin-yang polarity, creating a sixty-year stem-and-branch cycle. This provides broad year context; a year sign is not the same as a Zi Wei major star.
