What the Sun sign contributes
A Sun sign is a familiar seasonal reference. It can give a person a compact vocabulary for expression, element, modality, and a few reflective questions.
AstroEW uses it as an accessible first lens because many overseas visitors recognise it. Familiarity is a bridge into the wider framework, not evidence that the sign explains a whole life.
What a full natal chart can add
Western practitioners may also read the Moon, planets, houses, angles, and aspects. Those components describe different symbolic questions and require a separate calculation model.
AstroEW does not currently present its Sun-sign field as a complete Western natal chart. Keeping this boundary visible is more useful than filling the page with unsupported certainty.
How to compare it with the two East Asian layers
- Compare the Sun sign with the Chinese zodiac year sign as seasonal language versus year-pillar context.
- Compare both with Zi Wei’s palace-and-star map, which starts from a traditional birth date and hour.
- Keep shared words such as element or polarity attached to their source system.
- Use all three as prompts and return to lived evidence.

- Write one Sun-sign phrase you recognise.
- Write one situation it does not explain by itself.
- Add one question from the Chinese zodiac and one from the Zi Wei palace map.
- Decide which real-world evidence you would need before making a strong claim.
